New years bring the gentle reminder that time is passing. We all have our own intimate ways of marking time but the turning of a calendar from one year to the next forces us all to agree that life is indeed moving swiftly along with or without our acceptance. Some things are discovered, revived, or move with an inspiring energy we carry as long as we can. Other things become old, broken, and/or stuck as we lay them to rest and head away from what we once knew as home. We fold memories with the delicate touch used for things tattered and valuable. Each new year, we measure the change and unfold the possibilities. Each new morning, we open our eyes again.
